Compensation: Hourly pay ranging from $35–$45/hour (Annual income varies based on experience and overtime hours, approximately $72,800 to $135,200)
Job type: Hourly pay, W2 position. Full-time, Day Shift (Monday–Friday, 10+ hour workdays during peak season; 40–65 hours/week)

Excavation Foreman – Road Projects Job Summary:
Are you an experienced heavy equipment operator or road construction foreman ready to take the next step in your career? Ferguson Brothers is hiring a Excavation Foreman – Road Projects to lead and operate civil and commercial excavation projects throughout the Alexandria area and Central MN.
This is a seasonal position (April to December) with some emergency work available in the off-season. We’re a family-owned company with 45 years in the industry and a reputation for quality and reliability. Our ideal candidate is skilled with equipment operation and can confidently manage crews, read blueprints, and ensure high standards for safety and productivity.
Excavation Foreman – Road Projects Responsibilities:
- Operate dozers, excavators, graders, and skid loaders for road and commercial building projects
- Manage your job site and crew to maintain productivity, safety, and quality
- Review and follow project plans, blueprints, and schedules
- Oversee job cost tracking, daily reports, and project documentation
- Perform light maintenance on equipment including greasing, checking fluids, and cleaning
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with all company safety protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Excavation Foreman – Road Projects Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience operating dozers, excavators, graders, and/or skid loaders required (more experience preferred)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and job plans
- Experience using GPS systems on dozers
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Some computer skills required
- Drug and alcohol testing required before first day
- Medical DOT Health Card required
Excavation Foreman – Road Projects Preferences:
- Valid CDL A (Preferred)
- GPS operation familiarity
