Job Description

Join a dynamic team as an HVAC Maintenance Technician, where you'll install, service, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems ranging from 1 to 15 tons. You will diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, including electrical and mechanical components, while performing routine maintenance and seasonal tune-ups. Your role will require reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings, as well as communicating effectively with clients to explain issues and recommend solutions. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety standards is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair HVAC systems (1–15 tons) for residential and light commercial properties.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and seasonal tune-ups on HVAC equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing explanations and solutions for HVAC issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HVAC codes and safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, and mini-splits.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and control systems.
  • Customer service experience in a field service role.
  • Basic computer or tablet skills for work orders and scheduling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or HVAC certification preferred.
  • EPA 608 Certification required (Type II or Universal).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Residential/Light Commercial HVAC service.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with refrigerants, thermostats, air filters, belts, pulleys, and compressors.
