About The Role

Join the RAC as a Senior New Business Development Manager and drive large‑scale growth across our insurance and legal services partnerships. This is a senior, commercially critical role where you’ll lead high‑value new business across the UK insurance market. Your focus will be on winning and growing sizeable corporate partnerships, particularly with large insurance brokers and financial services organisations, and helping shape the future of the RAC’s Legal Services proposition. We already work with well‑known names like Markerstudy, Hastings and Ageas. Now we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable opening doors, leading complex conversations, and securing new business at scale in a regulated, competitive market. The role is hybrid and can be based at either our Walsall or Bristol office.

What you’ll do

  • Own and lead new business development across large corporate insurance and financial services partners, from first conversation through to contract close.
  • Build a strong pipeline of high‑value opportunities, with a clear focus on large insurance brokers and strategic partners.
  • Lead complex bids, tenders and negotiations, often involving multi‑million‑pound contracts and senior decision‑makers.
  • Grow the RAC’s presence across the insurance services landscape by securing long‑term, commercially strong partnerships.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Legal, Compliance, IT and Operations to onboard new partners and deliver sustainable growth.
  • Maintain senior‑level relationships with partners, ensuring commercial performance, delivery against SLAs and ongoing value for both sides.
  • Use market insight, competitor activity and partner feedback to shape propositions and influence future strategy.
  • Coach and support colleagues in business development and account management, helping build a connected, high‑performing team.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience winning new business at scale within insurance, financial services or a closely related regulated industry.
  • A strong track record of securing and growing partnerships with large insurance brokers, insurers or financial services organisations.
  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations and managing high‑value contracts.
  • Confidence operating at senior level, both internally and with external stakeholders.
  • A commercially sharp, relationship‑led approach, with the resilience to deliver in a fast‑paced environment.
