We're looking for a Claims Handler to join our Legal Services team, where you’ll manage legal expenses insurance claims from initial set-up through to conclusion. The core function of this role is to set up, assess and handle claims for legal expenses insurance clients. You will also manage the related administration in line with internal policies and procedures and within regulatory framework. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your claims expertise within a supportive, fast-paced environment, working closely with customers, solicitors, and key stakeholders.
This role will be delivered on a flexible hybrid model of working three days from home and two days at our Bradley Stoke office.
What you’ll do:
- Reviewing and assessing claims, ensuring that they meet the policy criteria.
- Referring claims to our panel solicitors in line with policy terms and declining claims where appropriate.
- Managing customer expectations concerning process and timescales from the point of initial contact through to claim conclusion.
- Reviewing documentation from clients and identifying missing information needed to complete the claims assessment process.
- Providing accurate policy application and guidance to all clients, colleagues, corporate partners and solicitors on all products/policies provided by and/or serviced by RAC LS.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, panel solicitors and corporate partners to continuously improve the service provided and meet the client’s needs.
- Ensuring that authorised costs and accruals are consistently updated in line with internal policies and procedures to accurately reflect the level of risk exposure.
- Proactively managing the billing process for all LEI products by accurate reconciliation of data and timely processing of payments in line with our internal procedures.
- Ensuring all bills received are reviewed and challenged where appropriate.
What you’ll need:
- A good working knowledge of legal expenses insurance products for both home and motor is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- The ability to organise and manage own workload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and telephone communication skills.
- A broad range of IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools & Applications.
- Understanding of Data Protection regulations and general compliance obligations in capacity of the role.
- Experience of working as part of a team whilst also having the ability to use your own initiative and work to strict deadlines.
- Commercial awareness.
- Minimum of 6 months in a regulated claims environment is desirable.
