RAC have a new exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Coordinator to join our Data Protection Team on a 6‑12 month FTC. This is a hybrid role, working two days a week from our Bradley Stoke offices and three days working from home. You will provide administrative support to the Data Protection team by managing all incoming customer requests related to Information Rights. As the first point of contact for internal customers, you will provide general advice and guidance on data protection issues, assign cases to the appropriate team member, and ensure outcomes are tracked within the relevant timelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a fast‑paced environment, be highly organised and have a good understanding of data protection laws and regulations.

What You’ll Do
  • Assess inbound customer communications, using knowledge of data protection laws and regulations to assign work to the most appropriate Data Protection team member.
  • Respond to and review data subject rights requests and disclosures in line with applicable legislation.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure personal data breaches and incidents are appropriately reported, recorded, and monitored.
  • Coordinate the data protection annual employee training calendar; ensuring all individuals are captured and trained in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate teams and collate responses for external data protection audits.
  • Notify and support the team with the review and update of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate responses for supplier due diligence including reviewing customer and supplier contracts/agreements.
  • Contribute to responses to data protection complaints.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to engage with colleagues at all levels.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including the ability to learn and adapt to IT systems.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand risk of subject matter to the business and need to ensure customers receive a response within the required timeframe.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites where required.
