Body Shop Parts Helper – Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

Job Summary:
The Body Shop Parts Helper assists in the efficient operation of the body shop by supporting inventory management, assisting technicians and painters, and providing excellent customer service. This role is essential for maintaining an organized parts department and ensuring that technicians have the necessary supplies to complete repairs and ensure cleanliness of the shop.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in receiving, labeling, and organizing parts and supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure that all parts are stored properly and accessible for technicians.
- Help process parts orders and returns efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Retrieve parts and supplies as requested by body shop technicians and painters.
- Assist with minor tasks such as preparing parts for installation and cleaning work areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts area and assist in keeping the overall shop tidy.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling parts and working in the shop environment.
- Maintain accurate records of parts orders and assist in updating inventory management systems.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory or damaged parts to management.
- Organize and conduct warranty and core part returns.
- Relocate vehicles within the shop to ensure proper functionality and facilitate workflow and organization throughout the facility.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an automotive parts department or similar role.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 10 days following date of hire.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

- Work in well-ventilated and well-lit repair shop.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment that may result in minor injuries.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots may be required to ensure safety while handling parts and equipment.
- Work both indoors and outdoors.
- Noise level is moderate to loud.
