Job Title: Bilingual Cemetery Operations Technician
Location: Ogden, UT

Reports To: Cemetery Operations Supervisor / Manager

Position Summary:
The Bilingual Cemetery Operations Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of the cemetery grounds, facilities, and interment services. This role requires effective communication in both English and Spanish to serve diverse families and collaborate with a multicultural team. The technician ensures the respectful handling of all cemetery-related duties with professionalism, sensitivity, and attention to detail. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are essential, as the position involves the regular operation of cemetery vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform grave openings and closings, including layout, excavation, and backfilling.

Maintain cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep.

Install and align headstones, markers, and memorials per cemetery standards.

Operate and maintain tools and heavy equipment such as backhoes, trucks, and lawn equipment safely and efficiently.

Assist with setup and teardown of funeral services, including tents, chairs, and lowering devices.

Interact with grieving families, funeral directors, and clergy in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Translate or communicate procedures and information to non-English-speaking families or coworkers as needed.

Maintain accurate service and maintenance records in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
