DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Behavioral Health Counselor will be responsible for evaluating and determining courses of treatment for their assigned clients. They will:

· Treat all ages from Age six to adult

· Coordinate all aspects of the client's treatment and provide ongoing counseling.

· Actively participate in ongoing program evaluation.

· Be able to diagnose the client and follow through with required paperwork of the program as follows.

o Fully written assessment of the client.

o Complete diagnosis using DSMIV protocols

o Use the ICDM9 for primary diagnosis for billing purposes

o Maintain patient records, according to Clinic protocols

o Maintain knowledge of community resources and programs and make appropriate referrals as required.

Requirements:

·Possess a current and active license as an LCSW or MFT to practice counseling in the State of California

· Must have the education and at least one year experience in treating children age 6 and up.

·· Must demonstrate recent experience in Behavioral Health and/or agency setting

· Must be able to assess for suicidality and make appropriate referrals per California State law
