About the role
The RAC's Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division delivers planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members from their driveway to their workplace car park. You will work through a scheduled list of jobs, with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing.
- Diagnose vehicles using advanced mobile equipment.
- Complete in-depth repairs typically performed in a workshop.
- Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
- Perform vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
What to expect
Your day starts with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre-booked, with the member expecting you. You’ll work 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with a Monday–Saturday availability for breaks, including one Saturday in every four weeks.

Requirements
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
- Ability to work independently and follow digital schedules.
