Job Description
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. This role requires a strong background in construction accounting, including both corporate and project-level financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in managing the month-end and year-end close processes
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, and sales tax filings
- Prepare and review financial statements, job cost reports, and internal financial packages
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project accounting, including cost tracking and revenue recognition
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff
- Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of corporate and project accounting, including WIP schedules and job costing
- Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar ERP systems)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week
Compensation:
$110,000-$125,000
