Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience, you'll receive:

  • A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent), with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience

Responsibilities:

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you'll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you'll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most. You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service. You’re more than a mechanic. You’re a problem solver, a people person, and a proud ambassador for the RAC. Whether you’re on a busy roadside or a quiet cul-de-sac, you stay calm under pressure and confident in your craft. You thrive on variety. One moment it’s fault diagnostics, the next it’s a flat tyre or battery - no two jobs are the same.

Shift Details:

Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
