Overview

Are you a creative problem solver? Do you excel in a fast paced environment? RAC has an exciting opportunity for a Resourcing & Scheduling Specialist to join our Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) department based at our iconic Bescot office in Walsall. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 08:00-18:00 and 1 in 4 Saturdays (with a rest day in the week).

As a Resourcing & Scheduling Specialist with SMR you will own all the allocated resource across both contact centre colleagues and Mobile Mechanics. You will develop and maintain key relationships with front line colleagues and management to deliver outstanding service. You will ensure all resource is at appropriate levels and in line with provided forecasts, while ensuring Mobile Mechanics diaries are optimised to hit Jobs per Shift targets. Reporting to the SMR Trading Manager, you will build and issue annual rosters to frontline colleagues in line with agreed forecast plans, rules and constraints. You will also be responsible for the resolution of resource issues on a day to day basis in real time.

Responsibilities

  • Rostering: Resource scheduling for defined colleagues within SMR.
  • Ensure FTE are scheduled to relevant levels against provided forecasts to maximise chances of hitting planned Service Levels (Annual and Tactical).
  • Highlight to line management any issues or factors that could prevent KPI achievement.
  • Ensure rosters meet demand while maintaining fair work/life balance and are constraint compliant.
  • Manage Annual Leave, training and downtime as per business rules and agreements.
  • Effective re-rostering as required by the business.
  • Management of new starters and leavers.
  • Tactical Planning: schedule the team at the right times, adhere to constraints, place hours to maximise Jobs per Shift to deliver the optimum resourcing outcome.
  • Deliver best resource fit against forecast to hit service levels and coordinate overtime as needed.
  • Ongoing review of hours deployment to minimise wastage and maximise downtime benefits.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to ensure clear communication of resourcing and conformance of working arrangements.
  • Work across boundaries to ensure a nationally consistent approach and fair treatment in daily resourcing decisions and overtime allocations.
  • Interpret data and perform QA checks on scheduled work to ensure achievability and prevent delays.
  • Maintain focus in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
