At the RAC, you’ll be a mobile mechanic delivering expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to customers, wherever they are. You’ll service driveways to office car parks, provide exceptional customer service, and help represent the RAC with pride. Responsibilities:
- Be the face of the RAC on customer sites, delivering high-quality maintenance and advice with professionalism.
- Mix servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks with effective stock management, accurate reporting, and ongoing customer communications.
- Think on your feet to make the right call for each customer, handling different fixes and challenges daily.
Qualifications:
- Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 3 years' hands-on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
Role Details:
- Location: Manningtree, Essex
- Salary: base £38,625, with on-target earnings up to £50,000
- Overtime: guaranteed overtime option to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
- Hours: 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am–5:00pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays
- Contract: Full Time
As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. You’ll be equipped from day one with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit. The role offers independence, potential career progression, and a work-life balance that keeps you on the move rather than stuck in a workshop.
Earnings That Motivate: market-competitive base salary of £38,625, with the opportunity to increase earnings up to £50,000 through bonuses and overtime. A full-time 40-hour week is available with Monday–Saturday availability (8am–8pm).
