Description: Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division – a new era of mobile repair.
A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000, a guaranteed overtime option, and additional bonus opportunities. 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am‑5:00pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Opportunities in the East Midlands: Burton Upon Trent, Chesterfield, Derby, Leicester, Loughborough, Market Harborough, Northampton.
A different kind of RAC role: The SMR division delivers planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members’ homes or workplaces.
No emergency callouts, unpredictable shift patterns or roadside recoveries.

- What you’ll do
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In‑depth repairs normally done in a workshop
- Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
- Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
You’ll have a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics.

Requirements
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
