Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division - a new era of mobile repair.

Location: You will be part of the Esher cluster, covering areas such as Esher, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Epsom, Ewell, Tolworth, Chessington, Worcester Park, Sutton, Croydon, Mitcham, and Wimbledon. You will work through a scheduled list of jobs in your local area, with a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment, in-depth repairs normally done in a workshop, member advice and recommendations, and vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
  • Maintain a clear digital schedule, with each job pre-booked and members expecting you.
  • Prepare for each job and perform quality work without reactive callouts.
  • Use technical skill and problem-solving ability to get cars moving again safely, quickly and confidently.

Key Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable) with on-target earnings up to £57,000.
  • Guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
  • Full-time 40-hour week, with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays. Opt-in guaranteed overtime available after the first month.
  • Tools to Drive Your Future: fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, advanced diagnostics.
  • Holiday: 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays; paid family leave and flexible schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
