Responsibilities
- Engage with customers on-site, delivering high-quality maintenance and diagnostic services with professionalism and RAC pride.
- Service, diagnose, repair, and perform checks on light vehicles; manage stock, complete reporting, and maintain active customer communications.
- Work on the move—provide services at driveways, offices, and other customer locations, delivering first-class service outside a traditional garage.
- Operate with independence, using your RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit provided from day one.
- Contribute to a positive customer experience and uphold RAC standards in every interaction.
Qualifications
- Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
- At least 3 years' hands-on experience as a vehicle technician with a range of light vehicles.
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Salary & Hours
A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on-target earnings up to £50,000. A guaranteed overtime option to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities. 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am–5:00pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Role Details
As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first-class service without the constraints of a traditional garage. You’ll be equipped from day one to succeed with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit.
