Responsibilities
You’re someone who gets people. This isn’t just spanners and engines - our mechanics are out there on driveways, chatting with customers, giving advice, and representing the RAC with pride. You’re not just in the RAC—you are the RAC. Every fix, every chat, every driveway visit shows what we’re all about. You like mixing things up. Every day’s a little different—servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks. But it doesn’t stop there: you’ll manage your stock, do your reporting, and keep those customer conversations flowing. You think on your feet. You’ll be trusted to think on your feet and make the right call for each customer. Different fixes, different faces, new challenges every day.
Qualifications
- Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
- At least 3 years’ hands-on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Benefits
- A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on-target earnings of up to £55,000 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable)
- A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
- 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays
- Full-time 40-hour week, with Monday-Saturday availability (8 am-8 pm), offers flexibility and stability
- Opt-in Guaranteed Overtime – after your first month, you can choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour. One extra day a month could earn you £3,000 more per year; two extra days could give you an extra £5,000
