About The Role
RAC has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Assurance Specialist to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance function. This role supports RAC\’s compliance strategy and contributes to delivering good customer outcomes and meeting regulatory obligations. You’ll work across business divisions, providing advice, challenge and oversight, while developing your expertise in a dynamic environment.
We’re looking for someone with a strong regulatory background and 3+ years of compliance experience. You’ll be confident, pragmatic and resilient—able to say no when needed, bring fresh ideas, and implement change. The role is based at our Bradley Stoke, Bristol office on a Hybrid model of 2 days in the office & 3 remote, with a competitive package.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead assurance activities to support RAC\’s Consumer Duty Framework, identifying risks and agreeing mitigation actions.
- Interpret and implement regulatory changes through horizon scanning and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the business in meeting its regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide expert advice on BAU and change activities to ensure compliance is maintained and developed.
- Represent compliance at internal and external meetings and committees.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies.
- Help enhance and maintain an effective compliance culture across the business.
What You\’ll Bring
- Minimum 3 years\’ experience in a compliance or regulatory role.
- Strong knowledge of UK financial services regulation, including FCA Handbook, Financial Promotion regime, PRA Rulebook, and Solvency II.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders while remaining impartial.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of RAC products and systems.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Organised, resilient, and confident in managing cross-functional relationships.
- Analytical mindset with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Degree-level education preferred (e.g., law, finance, business administration) or equivalent compliance qualifications/experience.
