How to prepare for a job interview at RAAM

Know Your Fire Door Basics

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of fire doors and their installation requirements. Be ready to discuss the different types of fire doors, their ratings, and the regulations surrounding them. This shows that you’re not just a carpenter, but a knowledgeable professional in fire safety.

Showcase Your Experience

Prepare specific examples from your past work where you successfully installed fire doors or contributed to passive fire projects. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. This will help you demonstrate your hands-on experience effectively.

Ask Insightful Questions

Think of questions that show your interest in the company and the role. For instance, ask about the types of projects you’ll be working on or how they ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. This not only shows your enthusiasm but also helps you gauge if the company is the right fit for you.

Dress the Part

While it’s a construction role, make sure you present yourself neatly. A smart-casual outfit can go a long way in making a good first impression. It shows that you take the interview seriously and respect the opportunity to meet with them.
