Our Clients require a full-time Accounts Manager for a growing practice. You will work closely with both Partner and manage a small team being responsible for a large and varied portfolio of clients. Whilst overseeing the statutory work associated with the portfolio's accounting and corporation tax requirements, you will also work alongside our tax and audit teams.
As an Account Manager at the firm, you will lead with integrity and expertise, managing the portfolio while collaborating across teams to drive innovative solutions. You will cultivate strong relationships both internally and with clients, fostering open communication and building trust, all while delivering exceptional results by embodying our values of collaboration, innovation, and cultivation in every aspect of your work.
You will have a team of audit & account seniors, semi-seniors and trainees (5 reporting to you) and you will be responsible for the mentoring and training of staff through your day-to-day work and staff reviews. Candidates must be highly articulate, proactive, and presentable. We seek a quick learner who can communicate well with clients and staff of all levels. Candidates must be ACA or ACCA exam qualified.
Key Qualifications- Current knowledge of International Auditing Standards & FRS 102/105
- Business plans/forecasts on Excel
- CCH accounts for production and corporation tax
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, including the extraction of information and ability to make adjustments.
- Commerciality, including strong organisational capabilities.
- Dynamic, good communicator and able to pre-empt client and partner needs
- To manage a portfolio of clients, developing good relationships, understand your client's requirements, monitor work-in-progress against internal budgets and agreed fees, billing and keeping the client partner aware of status and issues.
- Seamless onboarding of new clients and communication with teams throughout the firm during the process.
- Develop new systems and processes to ensure work throughput is done expeditiously.
- To collaborate with the clients on all aspects of audit/accounts/tax and to be the main point of contact for any other ad hoc queries.
- Take ownership of all aspects of a job including planning, supervision and finalisation.
- To plan work and implement that plan, identifying key issues.
- To plan staffing requirements and foresee capacity issues.
- To prepare, review and finalise statutory accounts.
- To be proactive in collaborating with other departments to ensure timely workflow.
- Act as a firm ambassador to build contacts and develop new business opportunities.
- Attend external and internal meetings.
- Work as a team with other managers in the same department and across the firm.
- Be a reliable and trusted support to partners and associate directors and work well under pressure.
- Be willing to teach and develop junior team members and provide constructive feedback on a job-by-job level alongside monthly 1-2-1s.
