Location: This position is ideally based at our Cowshill office. However, location flexibility at our Crook office may be considered for the right candidate.

Job Description: We are looking for a Purchasing and Material Coordinator who is responsible for sourcing, selecting and purchasing goods, materials and services at the most competitive prices to meet business operational needs. This role relies on negotiation skills, market analysis and advanced Excel skills to manage supplier relationships, optimise spends and maximise profitability. This role will involve working as part of a team between stock locations and also working with other departments in the business.

General Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of warehouses supplying our team of engineers
  • Placing and managing purchase orders for site specific items, stock parts and consumables
  • Negotiating competitive pricing, bulk discounts and optimal delivery terms with suppliers
  • Manipulate data and produce reports to aid negotiations
  • Retaining purchase and stock records accurately in the business financial system
  • Maintaining cost prices and work with various teams to continuously update sales prices
  • Help team with routine stock checks and update the businesses internal system

Requirements and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing and stock control role
  • Highly skilled in utilising the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions to manipulate and interpret ERP financial data
  • Experience using computerised purchasing or stock control systems
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Good attention to detail, particularly with stock, supplier and delivery records
  • Confident dealing directly with suppliers and colleagues across departments
