Job Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen at RA Dalton for a driven and commercially minded New Business Administrator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sales, customer engagement and business growth within the wastewater servicing sector. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships and expanding our service contract portfolio across domestic and commercial markets. As a key member of the service department, you will proactively source new leads, respond to enquiries and convert prospects into long‑term customers. You’ll work closely with the Service Manager, Accounts and Transport teams to ensure seamless onboarding and delivery of service agreements, maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
General Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities for wastewater servicing contracts
- Respond to inbound enquiries and generate outbound leads through calls, emails, and CRM outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to understand their servicing needs
- Prepare tailored service agreements for all new enquiries and installations, follow up and secure contracts
- Set up and manage new service contracts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely, professional communication
- Maintain and update CRM systems (Clik) and spreadsheets with lead and customer data
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate service delivery, including scheduling, transport logistics and account setup
- Source networking opportunities and collaborate with Marketing to promote RA Dalton’s servicing solutions
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Support the Service Manager in strategic planning and departmental development
- Assist the Service team with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks
Requirements and Skills:
- Proven experience in a sales, business development or customer acquisition role – ideally within the wastewater, environmental services or facilities management sectors
- Strong understanding of service‑based sales cycles, including lead generation, qualification and conversion
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Confident in handling both inbound and outbound sales activity, including cold and warm leads
- Proficient in CRM systems (Clik preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple leads, contracts and follow‑ups simultaneously
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities
- Self‑motivated and target‑driven, with a proactive approach to achieving sales goals
- Strong team player who can collaborate effectively with internal departments
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems, servicing requirements or environmental compliance (desirable but not essential—training provided)
