Position: Mechanical Engineer Surveyor Contract: Permanent/Full Time Location: Reading Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm Salary: £49,000 per annum + £4,000 car allowance Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, private healthcare, private pension, annual salary review Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer Surveyor to join a leading testing, inspection and certification company. Based in a large facility in Reading, this role involves the surveying and inspection of mechanical mobile plant and equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Surveying and inspecting a range of mechanical equipment, including hoists, winches, lifting equipment, forklifts, power tools, mobile cranes, and elevated work platforms. Ensuring all equipment meets required safety and compliance standards. Producing detailed reports and recommendations following inspections. Supporting maintenance and operations teams with technical insights and expertise. Maintaining accurate records of inspections and associated documentation. Qualifications & Experience: Level 4 mechanical qualification is essential. A minimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience working with relevant equipment. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, particularly hoists, winches, forklifts, and mobile cranes. A current clean UK driving license is required. Why Join?
