Position: Data Centre Shift Technician Location: Critical Data Centre, Reading Salary: £49,400 per annum (£43,400 per annum + £6,000 shift allowance) Hours: Continental shift pattern (0:700 to 19:00 / 19:00 to 07:00) Contract: Permanent Benefits: 23 days holiday, holiday buy scheme (up to 5 extra days), gym access, and overtime available. About the Role We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading facilities maintenance provider for a Data Centre Shift Technician to join their team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile site, ensuring the reliability of critical systems within a state-of-the-art data centre environment. What’s Involved: Conduct preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis on critical equipment. Monitor and troubleshoot BMS and SCADA systems. Work alongside and oversee subcontractors during planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Maintain water systems in compliance with L8 Legionella legislation. Respond to helpdesk and client requirements promptly, ensuring SLAs are met. Carry out daily site checks, ensuring plant rooms are clean, safe, and operational. Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve building systems and processes. Key Requirements: Technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering. Strong understanding of Generators, Cooling Systems, and UPS Systems. Awareness of site criticality and associated risks. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills.
