About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of projects from pre-construction to final account
  • Develop and manage cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
  • Administer contracts in line with JCT, NEC, and other industry standards
  • Manage procurement activities including tendering, analysis, and subcontract awards
  • Negotiate subcontract agreements and final accounts
  • Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment
  • Manage variations, claims, and change control processes
  • Produce and review monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior stakeholders
  • Lead commercial meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting
  • Mentor and support the development of junior commercial staff
  • Contribute to tendering, bid submissions, and pre-construction activities

What We're Looking For

  • 8-10+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying within the UK construction industry
  • Minimum 3 years operating at Senior QS level (or equivalent)
  • Proven track record delivering medium to large construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience in subcontract procurement, contract management, and final accounts
  • Strong understanding of risk management and commercial strategy
  • Experience in a design & build environment

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • MRICS / MCIOB (or working towards)
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development
