We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take ownership of the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring profitability, effective risk management, and high-quality financial reporting.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering successful construction projects while building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
  • Administer contracts (JCT, NEC and other forms)
  • Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontract agreements
  • Carry out measurement and valuation of works, including variations
  • Produce and submit interim valuations and applications for payment
  • Assess subcontractor payment applications and agree final accounts
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Monitor project costs and report on performance and margins
  • Produce monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports and forecasts
  • Manage variations, compensation events, and contractual entitlements
  • Support project teams with commercial decision-making and value engineering
  • Attend client and project meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with procedures
Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the UK construction industry
  • Strong experience across sectors such as commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, or residential
  • Proven track record in commercial management of construction projects
  • In-depth knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience with subcontract procurement and management
  • Skilled in preparing valuations, CVRs, and final accounts
Qualifications
  • Degree, HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
  • Membership (or working towards) RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
  • Valid CSCS Card
