R4 is a media trading, planning and activation business built around how media actually works in the real world.
R4 sits at the intersection of programmatic trading, creative, and client performance, which means data lives everywhere: in DSPs, in HubSpot, in campaign reporting, in new business pipeline. We're looking for someone to own it.
You’ll build reporting infrastructure that lets traders optimise faster, lets account managers walk into client meetings with a story instead of a spreadsheet, and lets leadership see the business clearly.
But this role goes further than reporting what happened. A significant part of it is audience; who the campaign actually reached, why those people behaved the way they did, and what that tells us about the next brief. You’ll work across audience profiling and segmentation data, industry currencies, first-party client data and platform reporting to build a picture of the consumer that holds up when someone pushes back on it.
You’ll work closely with our media trading and planning teams on campaign performance data, and with our Marketing Director on HubSpot-based attribution, funnel reporting, and forecasting.
This isn’t just a back-office analytics role. You’ll be in the room when decisions get made.
How You Think, This Matters Most
- Restlessly curious about people. The whys, the whens, the hows. Why does someone buy this at 7am and not at 7pm? Why does this creative land in Manchester and die in Bristol? What changed, and what changed first?
- Starts from a hypothesis and goes looking, rather than waiting for a reporting request to land in the inbox
- Uncovers the data points nobody asked for: the ones that reframe the question rather than answer it
- Builds new metrics when the existing ones don’t actually measure the thing we care about
- Naturally sceptical of a nice- looking chart that doesn’t hold up under questioning
- Comfortable saying "I don't know yet, but here's how I'd find out"
- Happy in a small, fast-moving team where you’ll build things from scratch rather than inherit a finished system
Requirements
- 1-2 years' experience in a data, analytics, or insight role; media, adtech, or agency background strongly preferred
- Strong Excel/Sheets as standard: pivot tables, lookups, cleaning ugly platform exports, building something reusable rather than a one-off tab
- Confident with HubSpot (or a similar CRM/marketing platform) and comfortable owning reporting infrastructure, not just reading it
- Comfortable building and maintaining dashboards; Looker Studio, PowerBI, Tableau or similar
- Able to translate numbers into a story a client or CEO can act on
Experience with, or a genuine appetite to learn, the tools we use to work out who the audience actually is and what makes them tick
- Profiling and segmentation: Experian Mosaic, CACI (Acorn, Ocean, Paycheck), Kantar TGI, YouGov Profiles, GWI, Acxiom
- Industry currencies and measurement: Route (the UK OOH currency), IPA TouchPoints, Ipsos iris, Comscore, BARB, RAJAR, PAMCo, JICMAIL
- Digital behaviour: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, Looker Studio; Adobe Analytics useful
- Location and movement data: Huq, Adsquare, Tamoco, Locomizer or similar, particularly relevant to out-of-home
- First-party data: CRM and transactional data, matching and enrichment, working out what a client's own data can and can't tell you
What matters most is the ability to turn a profile into a media implication, e.g., "this group over-indexes here, at this time, in this mindset, so here's what we should be buying and why".
Nobody has all of the above. Two or three of them plus real curiosity about the rest is what we're looking for.
Platforms and Programmatic
- Working knowledge of DSPs, ad servers, or programmatic trading data, DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, StackAdapt or similar
- Familiarity with ad serving (CM360, Flashtalking) and verification (IAS, DoubleVerify, MOAT)
- DOOH platform exposure is a bonus, not a requirement, VIOOH, Vistar, Hivestack, Broadsign
- A clear understanding of the metrics that matter, and more importantly, when they're misleading you: impressions vs plays vs impacts, viewability, frequency, dwell, attention, incrementality
- SQL or BigQuery is a strong bonus; Python or R welcome but not expected at this level
What You Get
- Front-row seat on a genuinely ambitious growth period
- Work directly with leadership; your reporting won't sit in a drawer, it'll shape decisions
- Access to the audience and profiling tools you need to answer the question properly
- A culture that backs rigour over guesswork - if you like being right for good reasons, you'll fit in
- Offices in Cardiff, London and other locations, with flexibility on where you're based
Benefits
- 25 days annual leave, plus UK bank holidays
- Private healthcare is available after the successful completion of probation
- Company pension scheme, with employer contribution
- Company laptop and full working setup provided
- Training and professional development support, aligned to progression
- Regular team and company events
- Wellbeing support, including mental health awareness initiatives
- Flexible working where appropriate, once core responsibilities are embedded
