I am working with a client searching for a Software Engineer in Test that will be based remotely, but working with an existing Engineering Team. This position offers huge growth potential as you will be responsible for the full product testing systems, across multiple functions and key parts for the operations of the core platform. You will lead and scale the automation testing whilst working closely with the backend software built in Python. During this role you will be encouraged to learn, use and implement AI to assist in the role and allow you to contribute to the backend software development. You will report into the Head of Development and manage timescales and conversations with Key Stakeholders. This position is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their test skills whilst taking ownership and learning more about hands-on development in the full life cycle. Alongside a mature working environment with responsibility, you can expect a salary in the region of £40,000 – £55,000 plus benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated tests
  • Translate manual test cases into automated end-to-end and functional tests
  • Increase test coverage across the company's key functions
  • Utilise AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Testim or similar) to accelerate test writing and code scaffolding
  • Maintain structured, maintainable and well-documented test suites
  • Collaborate with developers and testers to triage issues and identify test gaps
  • Contribute to backend development: Python, Django

Qualifications

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Strong Python skills and enthusiasm for clean, testable code
  • Experience using tools such as Playwright, Pytest, Selenium or similar
  • Comfortable working in a Django
  • Experience or interest in using AI tools to generate, extend or validate code and tests
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
  • Strong motivation for continuous learning and personal development

Benefits
