About the Role
We are seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our clients team, supporting both project-based initiatives (50%) and business-as-usual (BAU) tasks (50%). This position will involve engineering new solutions, handling version upgrades, and managing data migrations, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of their database environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimise SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Lead version upgrades and data migration projects
- Maintain and enhance backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Support business operations through troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Work collaboratively across teams to develop scalable database solutions
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data regulations
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience as a SQL Database Administrator in a complex enterprise environment
- Strong expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with database migrations & upgrades
- Knowledge of high availability (HA) & disaster recovery (DR) solutions
- Proficiency in performance optimisation & query tuning
Additional Details
- Security Clearance: Not required, but standard background checks will be conducted
- Contract Duration: Ongoing contract with a daily rate (Inside IR35)
- Work Environment: Primarily onsite (5 days preferred, 4 days negotiable for the right candidate)
