Your New Role

Our client is a rapidly growing building services organisation based in Braintree, who, due to growth are looking to bring on an ambitious mechanical estimator to join their team. The role will focus on assisting with cost estimation for mechanical systems, including industrial services and HVAC. In this varied position you will support in the preparation of cost proposals, review mechanical drawing and tender documents. You will also be tasked with reviewing and analysing quotations from subcontracts and suppliers, whilst perming detailed quantity take offs for materials, equipment and labour. Working closely with consultants and project managers to ensure technical and budgetary accuracy and liaising effectively with these stakeholders. Other elements of this role will include the analysis of historical cost databases and ensuring estimations align with the companies goals.

Ensuring Your Success

Ideally you will have worked in a similar mechanical estimation role previously. In terms of education you will have a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related field. You will have demonstrable experience in mechanical estimating or construction. Being technically savvy is key, ideally using tools, such as, Ensign. Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems is key with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents. Strong organisation skills and managing multiple projects is also a key point.
