Job Description
Role: L2 IT Support Engineer – 6 Week Contract
Location: Croydon (on-site)
Start: ASAP
Rate: Circa £200/day (Outside IR35)

Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced L2 IT Support Engineer to provide short-term backfill in Croydon. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting all IT services across the school environment, ensuring uptime, safeguarding and security for staff and pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support all IT services, systems, and devices (local & remote)
- Ensure secure access and data backup in line with school requirements
- Prioritise safe use of IT for students, working closely with safeguarding team
- Proactively monitor and maintain the IT network, troubleshooting issues
- Manage and resolve tickets via the service desk, providing in-person support where needed
- Escalate problems to third parties when required
- Oversee installation, configuration, and administration of users and devices
- Maintain IT asset register and documentation
- Carry out routine maintenance of classroom IT to minimise teaching disruption
- Monitor IT systems for viruses, malfunctions, and errors
- Collaborate with inTEC Education and other service providers on ongoing projects
Skills & Experience (Essential):
- 3+ years in IT support, with at least 1 year in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS
- Microsoft administration (Windows Server, O365, Azure, Intune, Entra ID)
- Networking: DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, wireless
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Enhanced DBS (mandatory)
Desirable:
- IT certifications
- MIS systems experience (e.g. SIMS)
- Previous school/education sector experience
- Experience with SaaS/cloud support
- Knowledge of safeguarding in IT (web/email security)
