As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the finance function within a well-established SME, acting as a key member of the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the Managing Director. This is a broad, hands-on role where you will oversee all aspects of financial control, reporting and compliance while supporting the wider business with commercial and operational insight.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the monthly close process
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports
- Overseeing budgeting and forecasting
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Producing cash flow forecasts
- Bank reconciliations
- Journals
- VAT returns and transfer pricing adjustments
- Leading the annual audit process
- Monitoring financial risks
- Managing insurance arrangements
- Supporting payroll administration
- Overseeing transactional finance activities
- Working closely with the Operations Manager on stock valuation, inventory management and profitability analysis
- Providing financial support for tender submissions
- Presenting reports to the Board of Directors
- Participating in international finance meetings
- Offering ad hoc commercial support to the Managing Director across a variety of business initiatives
