Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse & Stores Worker to support the daily operations of our warehouse and storage facilities within the water industry. This role is essential to maintaining the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of water utility materials, parts, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehousing or logistics and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries of materials, parts, and equipment
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using stock control systems (manual or digital)
  • Ensure proper storage of items in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack)
  • Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts to monitor inventory levels
  • Assist with inventory planning and reordering of essential items
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and field teams to meet project and maintenance demands
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and storage areas
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Report damaged or faulty items and assist in resolving stock discrepancies

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse, stores, or logistics role (experience in utilities or water industry preferred)
  • Forklift license and experience operating lifting equipment (desirable)
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items safely
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license (desirable)

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily based in a warehouse or storage facility, with occasional outdoor or field support
  • May involve heavy lifting and use of machinery
