We are a main franchise holder for various brands of commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle. Crawfords are seeking an experienced Commercial Vehicle & Motor Vehicle Technician in Writtle, Essex and Charing, Kent. You will be responsible for carrying out high‐quality servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles, motor vehicles, and agricultural machinery. This role supports the smooth operation of the service department by ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer standards.
Technicians will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, perform routine maintenance, prepare vehicles for customer delivery, and complete detailed service reports. The role involves working closely with the service team, maintaining workshop standards, and delivering excellent customer service. - Carry out scheduled service maintenance & inspection
- Complete pre-delivery inspections on new and pre-owned vehicles
- Promote dealership services & products to customers
- Service and repairs of ATV's & off-road / on road equipment
- Attend manufacturers' training courses
- Complete job cards & work orders using various software platforms
- Utilise laptop diagnostics and service systems – understanding of vehicle manufacturers wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Maintain a high standard of workshop housekeeping
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices
- A general level of computer literacy is required
- To adapt and take on new skills and approaches and participate in training and development activities
- To be flexible during busy times to work additional hours as required with the potential to go on a split shift pattern.
