Pay Rate: Β£85–£105 per day

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Literacy Intervention Assistants to join welcoming schools in the Nottingham(Post Code: NG10) area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils and helping them achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with teachers to provide effective classroom support, assist with learning activities and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach 1-on-1 or small-group reading sessions (phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension).
  • Guide oral reading practice and story discussions.
  • Help students pick level-appropriate books.
  • Supervise computer-based literacy tasks.
  • Teach 1-on-1 or small-group reading sessions (phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension).
  • Guide oral reading practice and story discussions.
  • Help students pick level-appropriate books.
  • Prepare lesson materials and organize library/room supplies.
  • Align support activities with classroom teacher goals.
  • Follow school policies for safeguarding and behavior.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
  • Good classroom management and behaviour-support skills.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the foundational components of reading, including phonics, phonemic awareness, and fluency.
  • Hold an Associate's degree, a minimum of 48 college credits, or pass a formal state/local academic assessment.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
