About the Role
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join welcoming schools in the Manchester (Post Code: M11) area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils and helping them achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers to provide effective classroom support, assist with learning activities and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach whole classes independently to cover planned teacher absences.
- Implement structured learning activities for individuals, small groups, or full classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers to design lessons, set clear objectives, and prepare materials.
- Monitor, record, and evaluate student development and achievement.
- Give detailed behavioral and academic updates to teachers, parents, and students.
- Enforce high standards of conduct and maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Mentor and guide other teaching assistants while coordinating classroom support.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
- Good classroom management and behaviour-support skills.
- You must demonstrate that your teaching practice meets all 33 official HLTA national standards.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
