We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established groundworks subcontractor on a major RC frame development in the Luton area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a strong reputation and a substantial pipeline of secured work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a long-term project, with further opportunities available across the contractor's wider portfolio.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of the groundworks and RC frame package, with a particular focus on the technical and operational side of the project. We're looking for a technically strong Project Manager who is comfortable managing programmes, updating RAMS and working closely with engineers, site teams and the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the groundworks / RC frame package.
  • Manage Site Managers, Foremen, Engineers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update RAMS throughout the project.
  • Develop, monitor and update the programme.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
  • Monitor quality and ensure works are delivered to specification.
  • Maintain high Health & Safety standards.
  • Liaise with the client, engineers and wider project team.
  • Identify and resolve technical and programme issues.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to programme.

Scope of Works

The project involves an RC frame development, with the package covering associated groundworks, foundations, drainage, reinforced concrete works, RC frame elements, slabs and associated external works.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within groundworks or RC frame.
  • Strong technical understanding of groundworks / RC frame construction.
  • Groundworks subcontractor experience preferred.
  • Comfortable updating RAMS and project programmes.
  • Strong understanding of sequencing and construction methodology.
  • SMSTS Essential.
  • CSCS Black Card Essential.
  • First Aid Desirable.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
