Can you help a small but ambitious CIC get its finances in good shape? Wild Oak runs The Wellspring, a nature‑based co‑mentoring programme for men in South Dartmoor, and we're seeking a skilled volunteer accountant to support us as we move into an exciting new phase of growth.

What difference will you make? Good financial foundations don't just keep an organisation compliant — they free up the people running it to focus on what matters most. With your support, Ollie will be able to manage Wild Oak's HMRC and Companies House obligations with confidence, reducing the anxiety that often comes with navigating these systems as a solo director. Beyond compliance, your guidance will help build the robust financial habits that underpin everything else we do — from managing grant income responsibly to demonstrating credibility to funders and partners. As Wild Oak grows, getting these foundations right now will directly strengthen our capacity to sustain and expand The Wellspring, and to reach more of the men in South Dartmoor who need it most.

What are we looking for? We're looking for a qualified accountant or experienced financial practitioner who understands the specific landscape of Community Interest Companies — including CIC compliance, filing requirements, and the nuances of managing grant income alongside other revenue streams. Experience working with CICs or similar social enterprise structures is essential. Just as important as technical expertise is the kind of person you are. Wild Oak's work is relational at its core, and we'd love to connect with someone who is genuinely motivated by community wellbeing and who finds meaning in being of service to a cause they believe in. An affinity with our mission — supporting men's mental health and connection through nature — will go a long way. Above all, we're looking for someone who is patient and approachable, and happy to work alongside a founder who is passionate about the programme but still developing confidence on the financial and compliance side.

What will you be doing? Wild Oak CIC is a small but growing nature‑based men's wellbeing organisation based in Buckfastleigh, South Devon. We run The Wellspring — a co‑mentoring and ecotherapy programme for men in South Dartmoor — and are entering an exciting new phase, with increased grant income, new referral partnerships, and a small team of freelance facilitators. As a Community Interest Company, we have specific compliance obligations, and we're looking for a volunteer with accountancy or financial administration experience to help us navigate our relationships with HMRC and Companies House confidently. This might include guidance on VAT, PAYE, corporation tax, and CIC‑specific filing requirements — helping us make sure we're meeting our obligations, avoiding pitfalls, and building good habits as we scale. You'd be working directly with Ollie, Wild Oak's founder and director, on an ad hoc basis — offering guidance, answering questions as they arise, and helping us feel less alone with the financial and compliance side of running a CIC.
