R S Cockerill are a family business based at Dunnington, near York supplying fresh potatoes into the supermarkets, as well as supplying the major crisp manufacturers with processing potatoes. We operate throughout the potato supply chain from delivering seed potatoes to farms, right through to distributing the finished product to our customers. All of this activity is supported by our own transport division, operating 15 articulated units to support 90 trailers ranging from flat trailers to root crop bulkers, to curtainsiders and insulated vans.

Job role:
Reporting to the Transport Manager, we are looking for an HGV Driver, various shifts available, including weekend work. There is the opportunity for additional days too, when required. We operate modern DAF and Renault tractor units using the latest in truck technology, always with driver comfort and safety in mind. We have a regular programme of reinvestment in trailers, all backed up by a robust preventative maintenance programme overseen by our own HGV Workshop.
Job requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and HGV C+E licence (Class 1).
- At least 2 years experience on articulated trucks.
- Prepared to spend nights out.
- Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card and be prepared to work within all the legal parameters of drivers hours legislation.
- Drive carefully and safely, mindful that they are ambassadors for the business.
- Have a good level of communication skills, work as part of a team, with the ability to understand and share information.
