Were expanding and looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join R S Cockerill, a long-established family business based in Dunnington, near York. As our operation continues to grow, were adding more Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to strengthen our engineering department and support our high production standards.

Role Overview Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)

  • Diagnose faults and complete emergency repairs to minimise downtime

  • Support installation of new machinery and equipment

  • Undertake reconditioning, adaptations, welding and fabrication work

  • Work safely and follow all company Health & Safety procedures

What Were Looking For

To succeed as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, youll need:

  • A strong mechanical engineering skillset

  • Experience in fabrication and welding (preferred)

  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions

  • Strong teamwork and a positive, proactive approach

  • Good literacy and numeracy

  • An understanding of Health & Safety requirements

  • Your own transport due to location
