The post holder will have particular responsibility for supporting the Chief Finance Officer who is also the Section 95 Officer, in ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the Council's financial affairs.
Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Finance Officer in ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the Council's financial affairs.
- As a member of the Finance and Revenues Service, work collaboratively with other Team Leaders, Senior Managers, and the Strategic Director to support overall strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that the services provided are fit for purpose.
- Provide leadership, vision, direction and effective management of the Accountancy functions, fostering a culture of high quality customer service, corporate working, continuous improvement and innovation.
- Identify and implement process improvements and service restructuring to meet the current and future needs of the Council.
- Act as a key member of the Council's extended Management Team and gain and maintain the credibility and trust of colleagues, with the ability to challenge appropriately.
