R G Carter is looking for an Apprentice Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful applicant will begin studies with a Construction Quantity Surveyor Technician Level 4. This qualification is delivered on the job and one day per week in the classroom. On completion, you will move onto study for a Construction Quantity Surveyor degree apprenticeship.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for cost control and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail. If you have an interest in construction and an ambition to start your career in Surveying, then join us for an apprenticeship. Please note, travel is required nationwide in serving our clients. This exciting role will give you the opportunity to learn and earn as we support you in developing your knowledge in Quantity Surveying. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost estimates and prepare budgets for construction projects
- Analyse project plans and specifications to determine quantities of materials needed
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and make recommendations for cost savings
- Prepare and submit progress reports, payment applications, and final accounts
- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Provide guidance on contractual matters to project teams
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify any potential issues
Key Skills & Knowledge Requirements for Apprenticeship:
- Evidence of Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, Functional Skills, or ESFA-approved equivalents
- Level 4 course starts in September; Course Length is 2 Years and up to 6 months
- Applicants must be 18 or over
- Must have the right to work in the UK and meet the Education and Skill Funding residency status
