Role Description
The Waste Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Aveley, responsible for the safe collection, transport, and delivery of waste materials from client sites to designated disposal or recycling facilities. Day-to-day tasks include operating company trucks, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, securing loads, and following assigned routes and schedules. The role involves working closely with site teams and clients, adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and accurately completing delivery and waste transfer documentation. The Waste Driver will also help maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical or safety issues promptly to management.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation and maneuvering of heavy vehicles.
- Valid CDL Class A (or equivalent appropriate license) and a clean driving record.
- Effective communication skills to interact with site teams, dispatch, and clients.
- Customer service skills to represent the company professionally at client locations.
- Ability to follow health, safety, and environmental procedures in waste handling and transport.
- Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance awareness to identify and report issues.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in waste management, construction, or related driving roles is beneficial.
