R.E.A.L Education – Sandhills (Worksop) site

£12.87 – £14.03 per hour

Permanent Contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time

Here at R.E.A.L. Education, part of the wider Aurora Group, we’re excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our small, nurturing Worksop site. If you’re passionate about helping young people reconnect with learning and rediscover their confidence, this is a role where you can truly change lives. Our mission is simple but powerful: to help every young person re‑engage, rebuild and reach their full potential. Relationships sit at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on creating safe, supportive environments where learners feel seen, valued and understood.

A Learning Experience Like No Other

At R.E.A.L., education is personalised and flexible. You’ll support learning through:

  • One‑to‑one sessions
  • Small group work

Our curriculum: We offer subjects across the breadth of the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum.

Who You’ll Be Supporting

You’ll work with children and young people aged 7 to 19, many of whom may be “lost to learning” or “hard to place”. We specialise in creating personalised pathways for those who struggle in mainstream settings, ensuring they receive the encouragement, structure and opportunities they deserve.

A Role Full of Variety and Purpose

No two days look the same. You might be:

  • Supporting a young person one‑to‑one
  • Helping deliver creative, hands‑on sessions
  • Working out in the community
  • Encouraging learners to build confidence, independence and essential life skills

Every day brings new challenges, new breakthroughs and new moments that remind you why this work matters.

Skills and Experience Required

You don’t need to be a highly experienced Teaching Assistant to be successful in this role. If you have experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary), we can provide the right environment and training for you to thrive. Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Ability to motivate and inspire children to believe in themselves.
  • GCSE Maths and English (minimum Functional Skills Level 2).
  • A proactive, can‑do mindset with the ability to think creatively and adaptively.
  • Willingness to take advantage of our excellent free training opportunities (e.g. Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) if not already achieved.
  • Ability to promote independence, positive behaviour, and personal development.
  • A creative approach that enables you to tailor learning activities to meet individual needs.

There is a need to transport learners when working in the community and engage with young people as required. Having a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred for transporting them to various locations.

We believe in supporting you as much as we support the children and young people in our care. Here’s a snapshot of the fantastic benefits waiting for you:

  • Grow with Us – Training & Development: Learning never stops at Aurora! We offer a wide range of training programmes and career development opportunities to help you build your skills and reach your goals.
  • Save Money on Everyday Essentials
