The Role: Due to continued growth and recent site expansions, RD Johns is looking for a committed and hardworking Butchery Assistant to join our busy production team at our Milber site in Newton Abbot.
- Package meat products to exceptional standards of hygiene, quality, and food safety.
- Operate vacuum‑packing machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support the production of sausages, burgers, and other product lines.
- Carry out accurate digital stock checks (full training provided).
- Maintain effective stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
- Work in full compliance with food safety, HACCP, and all company procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic
- A positive, team‑focused attitude
- Observant, proactive, and able to work independently when needed
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and hardworking
- Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety principles (desirable — training will be provided)
