Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday - Saturday 6am - 3pm

The Role: Due to continued growth and recent site expansions, RD Johns is looking for a committed and hardworking Butchery Assistant to join our busy production team at our Milber site in Newton Abbot.

  • Package meat products to exceptional standards of hygiene, quality, and food safety.
  • Operate vacuum‑packing machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Support the production of sausages, burgers, and other product lines.
  • Carry out accurate digital stock checks (full training provided).
  • Maintain effective stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
  • Work in full compliance with food safety, HACCP, and all company procedures.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Observant, proactive, and able to work independently when needed
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and hardworking
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety principles (desirable — training will be provided)
