- What You’ll Do
- Preparing surfaces for decoration, including sanding, filling and cleaning.
- Assisting with masking and protecting areas before work begins.
- Learning how to apply paints, primers and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
- Assisting with wallpaper hanging and decorative finishes.
- Mixing and preparing materials and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Following health and safety procedures on site.
- Loading, unloading and storing materials and equipment.
- Working alongside experienced painters and decorators to develop practical skills.
- Attending college and completing coursework towards the apprenticeship qualification.
- Travelling to a variety of residential and commercial sites across the South West.
- Training Outcome
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to secure a permanent position as a qualified Painter and Decorator within the company.
Further career progression opportunities may include becoming a Team Leader or Supervisor for the right candidate.
