The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Scientist to join our R&D team. The focus of the R&D team is to develop new products primarily focused on (but not limited to) the area of food and feed analysis. We specialise in immunoaffinity columns and cartridges for the analysis of analytes including mycotoxins, vitamins and proteins. As a scientist you would be leading projects from proof of concept to launch and providing post launch support. You would also be working in alignment with our quality system and contributing to company strategic tasks.

Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Job: Successfully lead and deliver a portfolio of allocated R&D Projects aligned with the current departmental goals. Contribute to an effective R&D service, supporting other functions and partners to investigate and resolve technical challenges for the commercial benefit of the company.
It is anticipated that the post-holder will most influence these results through the following general and function-specific activities:
General
- Managing own work and priorities to effectively meet expectations and deadlines.
- Regularly making a contribution to the advancement of the technical capability and reputation of the business by translating new knowledge into knowledge assets including:
- Papers and publications
- New procedures and methods
- Training content
- Self-driven continuous improvement
Function Specific
- Maximising contribution to an effective and visible product development pipeline by effective project management and efficient use of all available resources, for example time, instrumentation and skills; all aligned with the Design and Enhancement of Products Key Process and providing timely and relevant project data.
- Working closely with Production and Quality functions as directed to facilitate a smooth transition of new and enhanced products from R&D into full-scale commercial production.
- Making full and appropriate use of all available information and intelligence from Sales and Marketing and other functions and sources to ensure the successful launch of meaningfully unique products that fulfil a strategic and or customer requirement.
- Contributing to the development of credible business cases for upgrading and improving specialist laboratory equipment in line with the current strategy and business plan.
