Role Description
The Field Services Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Steeton. This position involves visiting customer sites across the UK and Ireland to install, service, and repair inhalation sedation and related equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostic checks, troubleshooting technical issues, carrying out preventive maintenance, and completing service documentation accurately. The engineer will provide technical support and guidance to customers, demonstrate equipment use when needed, and coordinate with internal teams to manage parts, schedules, and follow-up service. The role requires a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and professional customer interaction.
Qualifications
- Field Service experience, including on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose and resolve equipment faults efficiently.
- Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance practices to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance of equipment.
- Effective Customer Service abilities, including clear communication, professionalism, and relationship building.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., in electronics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar discipline).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Comfort working in clinical or healthcare environments, with attention to safety and regulatory standards.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites in the region.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage workload, documentation, and scheduling independently.
- Prior experience with medical gas or anaesthetic equipment is beneficial but not essential as essential training will be given. the successful candidate must have the ability to work independently but in the knowledge that back up support is always available.
