Your Opportunity, Your Team
The Assistant Buyer, Homeware supports QVC UK on a years Maternity Cover and provides comprehensive buying and merchandising support to help develop a compelling homeware product range that meets sales, margin and stock targets.
Where You'll Work
This role is hybrid and will require you to be onsite at Chiswick Park, West London at least two days a week.
What You'll Do
- Support the Buyer and Junior Buyer in developing and managing the homeware product range to deliver against sales, margin and stock objectives.
- Collate and present product, sales and trend information, and prepare packs for key meetings including range reviews, strategy meetings and promotional planning.
- Manage product samples, maintain the sample library, and coordinate samples and product information for meetings, presentations, marketing activity and promotional events.
- Monitor and manage the critical path, ensuring product information is accurate, deadlines are met, and changes are communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with suppliers on samples, product queries and administrative processes, while helping to build strong working relationships across the buying process chain.
- Produce market reports, competitor analysis and ad hoc reports, and bring forward ideas for new products and category opportunities within homeware.
- Support the product development process by chasing samples, test reports and fit-for-purpose requirements in line with QVC safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and check product-related paperwork, including sample request forms and cost price change documentation.
- Present weekly sales information to the team and contribute to broader merchandising discussions with clear observations and recommendations.
- Provide general administrative support to the department, including supplier coordination, customer service query support, meeting arrangements and travel bookings where required.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in a buying, merchandising or retail administrative role, ideally within homeware or a related product category.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple deadlines and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Good analytical skills, commercial awareness and confidence working with sales data, reports and merchandising information.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- A proactive, flexible and detail-focused approach, with the confidence to take initiative and support problem solving across the buying process.
