JOB PURPOSE
As a Product Specialist, you will manage the design and delivery of our product features. In this role, you’ll serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, owning the product backlog and ensuring we’re building the right things at the right time. You’ll work closely with Development, QA and our customer facing colleagues to translate vision into reality.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Backlog Support
- Write clear, detailed functional specifications that guide development work
- Create and manage feature requests and user stories in Jira, ensuring they’re properly documented and ready for development
- Refine backlog items based on feedback from stakeholders and technical teams
- Participate in feature prioritisation meetings
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Participate in refinement sessions with development and QA teams to clarify requirements and ensure shared understanding
- Collaborate with QA on test script creation and acceptance criteria to support quality standards
- Work with engineering to understand technical considerations and constraints
- Communicate progress and blockers to relevant stakeholders
- Product Planning
- Support the curation and delivery of the product roadmap working alongside senior product team members
- Take part in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Help balance competing priorities whilst maintaining focus on business objectives
- Contribute to decisions about feature scope and timelines
- Delivery & Quality
- Review completed work against defined acceptance criteria
- Ensure delivered features meet quality standards and requirements
- Track feature delivery timelines and highlight dependencies
- Support the product launch and release process

- Ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications
- Ability to work independently or within a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Desirable Expertise & Experience
- Experience and knowledge in technology and SaaS environments
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices
- Experience with backlog management tools such as Jira
- Experience within the Automotive or Asset Finance industry
- Awareness of AI capabilities and potential applications in product development
- Previous exposure to Product or BA teams
